How to Fix Your Braces

image

So, you broke a bracket, and your orthodontist is off skiing again thanks to the outrageous sum your parents just paid. If you plan to fix the problem yourself, here are some instructions.

Steps

  1. Buy denture glue at your local drugstore.
  2. Squeeze a little glue on a toothpick.
  3. Smooth the glue on the back of your bracket. (If the rubber band is still attached to the bracket then spin it around until you can apply the glue to the back.)
  4. Spin it back around or place it in back on your tooth.
  5. Push it firmly for a few minutes. That should keep a temporary hold.
  6. Tell your orthodontist about any fixes you did or attempted when you next visit him or her.

Tips

  • If this doesn't work, then just tell your othodontist at your next visit.
  • If its really bad, ask your mom or dad to schedule an emergency orthodontist appointment.

Warnings

  • Try not to fix it too much. If it didn't work the first time, chances are it won't work the second time.
